Am Grape Variety: Moscato Bianco (Muscat)

Producer: Tenuta Foresto (Francesco Pozzobon)

Region: Nizza Monferrato, Piedmont, Italy

Wild Scale: 4/5

Vegan friendly wine

Winemaking: Organic Cortese grapes were hand harvested and divided into 3 parts. 1/3 underwent direct press, 1/3 was de-stemmed and macerated on the skins for 20 days, the final 1/3 underwent carbonic maceration. Fermentation with indigenous yeast in concrete tanks. The wine was then aged in old, neutral oak for 10 months before being bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.

This Wine: Natural orange wine bursting with fruity and herbal notes. Lemon, Orange and peach skin flavours. Maybe our favourite vintage yet for this cuvée. Outstanding.

Notes on the Winemaker: Francesco Pozzobon hails from the Veneto region but now makes natural wine under the name Tenuta Foresto in Nizza Monferrato which is just south of Asti. he was inspired by the methods of Japanese farmer and philosopher Masunobu Fukuoka and aims to have as little impact on the natural ecosystem as possible. We visited in 2022 to try his wines in barrel which are getting better with every vintage. He previously lived in Highbury before heading back to Italy to start his winemaking project.
