Grape Variety: Grenache
Producer: Fergus Clague
Region: Gard, Languedoc, France
Wild Scale: 4/5
Vegan friendly wine
Winemaking: Organic (uncertified) grapes were hand harvested and underwent a 10-day, whole bunch, carbonic maceration. Fermented with indigenous yeast. Bottled with no filtration or fining and just a tiny amount of sulphur.
This Wine: Incredibly light, natural red wine which is best served slightly chilled. Candied and fresh red cherry fruit flavours with a nice touch of funk. If you need a reminder of what Summer tastes like, this is it! Ferg dedicated this wine to his daughter Saffie who helped him pick the grapes. He recommends drinking as an aperitif or with spicy Middle Eastern food.
Notes on the Winemaker: Fergus Clague hails from South London and was involved in the culinary scene before setting off for the South of France in 2014. 2018 was his first vintage and he is already making excellent wines with amazing value for money.
