Grape Variety: 60% Grenache, 20% Carignan, 20% Cinsault
Producer: Domaine Bories Jefferies (Joseph Jefferies)
Region: Caux, Languedoc, France
Wild Scale: 4/5
Vegan friendly wine
Winemaking: Organic Grenache grapes were harvested by hand and underwent whole bunch maceration for 2 weeks. Cinsault and Carignan grapes infused into the Grenache juice for 5 days and the wine was blended into fibreglass tank where it aged. Bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.
This Wine: Natural red wine with great acidity. The fruit flavours almost feel electric on the palate. Medium to full body. This is Joe's more experimental winemaking cuvee which he has labelled under the Brutal winemaking project.
Notes on the Winemaker: Joe Jefferies hails from Warwickshire but ended up in the Southern French village of Caux after falling in love with his partner whilst visiting the region. Now he is connected to like-minded natural winemakers in the area and never makes any additions to his wines which are full bodied but always retain freshness and minerality.
