Grape Variety: Vespaiola
Producer: Marco Turco
Wild Scale: 5/5
Vegan friendly wine
Winemaking: Organic grapes were harvested and de-stemmed by hand before being fermented with indigenous yeast for 20 days on the skins and some stems in fibreglass tanks. Aged for 1 year in stainless steel before being bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.
This Wine: Natural orange wine with an amber colour in the glass. Amazing complexity of ripe tropical fruit (but still dry) with some spice and a hint of asparagus. Up there with some of the most unique wines we have ever tasted. Best served with food.
Notes on the Winemaker: Marco Turco is a young winemaker in Breganze, Veneto. This area is famous for a sweet wine made from the Vespaiola grape but Marco is moving things in a different direction with his skin contact and dry "Vespasi" wine. We are excited to see what he does next.
