Winemaking: Organic were hand harvested and pressed as whole bunches before fermentation with indigenous yeast in stainless steel. Bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.
This Wine: A still red wine with light to medium body that is bursting with fresh blackcurrant and cherry flavours. High acidity and hint of spritz makes the wine feel lively on the palate and there is an underlying earthiness too. 12% alcohol as indicated in the name of the wine!
Notes on the Winemaker: Philippe Delmee is situated in Anjou where he works with the famous varieties of the region, Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc as well as some Grolleau and Pineau D'Aunis. He manages to find a balance between making more serious wines alongside gluggable, bistro style bottles.
