Winemaking: Grapes from 25-50 year old vines were hand harvested and underwent fermentation with indigenous yeast. Ancestral method (pet nat) winemaking techniques were used to produce the second fermentation in bottle. Disgorged in the Spring 2019. No added sulphur.
This Wine: A sparkling, dark pink pet nat with plenty of juicy red fruit character. Slightly off dry making it a great aperitif and perfect for a fun occasion with friends (that you really like!).
Notes on the Winemaker: Les Capriades is the project of Pascal Potaire and Moses Gadouche who produce only ancestral method sparkling wine (Pets Nats) from grapes grown by them or sourced from other farmers around the Loire Valley. We first tried one in Paris a few years ago and haven't found many Pet Nats that can compete! Full of class and character. They page huge attention to detail and disgorge every bottle by hand.
