Grape Variety: Pinot Noir, Gewurtztraminer
Producer: Laisse Tomber (Bastian Wolber)
Region: Baden, Germany
Wild Scale: 3/5
Winemaking: Organic Pinot Noir and Gewurtztraminer grapes were purchased from Yannick Meckert and Felix Scherer in Alsace and Baden. Co-fermentation with indigenous yeast. Bottled with no fining of filtration and just a touch of sulphur.
This Wine: Despite the name this is a blend of red and white grapes which results in a very unique wine. Fresh red fruit flavours partner with the floral and perfumed notes of Gewurtztraminer. Best served with a light food dish. Very small production.
Notes on the Winemaker: Bastian Wolber is a negociant winemaker in Germany who purchases grapes from some of the biggest names in the natural wine world. He learnt from the best after studying under Jean-François Ganevat in Jura. His wines are clean and precise but intense and full of character.
