Winemaking: Organic riesling grapes were harvested by hand. Fermented in old oak barrels with indigenous yeast after a period of time on the skins. Bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.
This Wine: A different wine from Riesling Pur in normal size bottle, this is a special cuvée only available in magnum that comes from some of the Brand Brother's "funkiest barrels" in the words of Jonas. Skin contact Riesling with some hazy texture and pronounced stone fruit flavours. Only a handful made.
Notes on the Winemaker: Daniel and Jonas Brand hail from Pfalz where they took over their family winery in 2014 to concentrate on fully natural wines (with the exception being Riesling Vom Berg which is more conventional). Their wines are unique, alive and bursting with personality. We visited in 2018 to explore the vineyards and learn the stories that accompany the wines.
