Vegan friendly wine 

Winemaking: Organic / Biodynamic Chardonnay grapes grown on 60 year old vines in Meursault were harvested by hand. Fermentation with wild yeast and aged in old oak barrels for 15 months. Unfiltered and bottled with a tiny amount of sulphur.

This Wine: Full bodied white Burgundy that is round but fresh with good acidity. Strong lemon aromas combine wonderfully with a smokey and toasty reduction. A complex and rich wine that is best served with food such as fish or chicken.

Notes on the Winemaker: Back in 2016 on my first ever trip to meet winemakers, I was fortunate enough to have lunch in Puligny-Montrachet with Pierre Fenals, the man behind Maison En Belles Lies. He had previously worked for Parisian fashion houses before picking up one of Rudolph Steiner's books in a local flea market. Biodynamic farming captured his imagination so much so that he would end up producing biodynamic wine in some of the world's most prestigious vineyards. He is committed to using as little sulphur as possible on bottling, if any at all which results in wine full of life and character.
