Grape Variety: Corinto (Chasselas)
Producer: Roberto Henríquez
Region: Itata Valley, Chile
Wild Scale: 5/5
Vegan friendly wine
Winemaking: Organically grown grapes were hand harvested and fermented with indigenous yeast. After a period of skin contact, the wine was bottled with no filtration or fining and just a small amount of sulphur.
This Wine: A natural orange wine in magnum format. Dry, with notes of tropical fruit such as pineapple and an underlying minerality. High in acidity. Corinto is the local name for the grape known in Europe as Chasselas which originated in Switzerland.
Notes on the Winemaker: Roberto Henríquez hails from Concepción, Chile but travelled and worked with winemakers in Canada, South Africa and the Loire Valley before returning home to concentrate on the traditional Pipeño methods of winemakers in Chile. He visited us at the bar in early 2020 to share some of his latest magical creations.
