Grape Variety: Gamay
Producer: Rémi Sédès
Region: Couteaux d'Ancenis, Loire, France
Wild Scale 4/5
Vegan friendly wine
Winemaking: Organic Gamay grapes were hand harvested and cold macerated for 4 hours. Fermented with indigenous yeast in fibreglass tanks for 3 weeks and aged on the lees in tank until bottling. No filtration or fining and just a small amount of sulphur on bottling.
This Wine: This is a serious rosé! The colour is beautiful enough on its own but then on the palate you get complex and unique flavours of candied pink grapefruit, orange peel and lemon juice which combine wonderfully. A huge leap on last year's vintage.
Notes on the Winemaker: Natural winemaker Rémi Sédès is a Gamay specialist near Nantes in the Loire valley where he moved to from his home in the Jura. He makes wines with character and elegance.
