Grape Variety: Melon de Bourgogne
Producer: Domaine Landron Chartier (Benoît Landron)
Region: Muscadet Couteaux de la Loire, France
Wild Scale: 3/5
Vegan friendly wine
Winemaking: Organically grown grapes were harvested by hand and fermented with indigenous yeast. Full malolactic conversion. Stored in concrete on the lees for 6 months. No fining or filtration. Small amount of sulphur on bottling.
This Wine: A fruity but dry wine with ripe and mineral character. Classic Muscadet with added intensity. Great by itself or with seafood.
Notes on the Winemaker: Benoît and his father Bernard farm just outside Nantes in the Loire region (his Mum does the books). We visited the vineyards (Organic since 2010) back in 2017 and tried all his great wines but the Pet Nat's particularly stand out and he has only been making these since 2013.
