Winemaking: Grapes were hand harvested and fermented with indigenous yeast before a period of old barrel ageing. Bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.
This Wine: A natural red wine with light to medium body that has a perfumed and aromatic quality. Red fruit flavours such as cranberry and cherry shine through and the acidity is bright and up-lifting.
Notes on the Winemaker: Craig and Carla Hawkins began the Testalonga project in 2008 and are now making some of the most unique wines in South Africa. They work with European grape varieties such as Cinsault and Chenin Blanc along with a range of winemaking techniques. The Baby Bandito range offers amazing value for wines without additions.
