Winemaking: Biodynamic Chenin Blanc grapes were harvested by hand. Gentle press and then fermented in old wooden barrels with indigenous yeast. Aged for 12 months in old oak. No filtration or fining. Small amount of sulphur before fermentation.
This Wine: Very classy, dry Chenin from the famous Vouvray region. Rich, full bodied and smoothly textured balanced with great acidity. Gold in the glass with notes of mineral, apple, apricot and herbs. Outstanding.
Notes on the Winemaker: Michel Autran produces dry wines in the region of Vouvrary which is synonymous with sweet and off dry whites. 'He works with 3.5 hectares of vines on some of the best terroir in this area. His first vintage was 2013 and he is now using biodynamic practices.
