Winemaking: Organic Gamay grapes were harvested by hand and underwent whole bunch semi-carbonic maceration. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old oak for 10 months. Bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.
This Wine: Natural red wine in a handy litre format! All the hallmarks of high quality but easy drinking Beaujolais. Fresh and candied strawberries, blueberries and white pepper with refreshing acidity. You can't go wrong!
Notes on the Winemaker: Wine has been made on this estate in the south of Burgundy since 1850 but it was only in 2016 that Jean-Francois decided to start making his own wine rather than sell the grapes to the local co-operative. It was also the same year that he converted to organics and is now making characterful wines at a great price.
