Winemaking: Organic grapes were hand harvested and underwent a long, slow press before fermentation with indigenous yeast. Bottled with no fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: The name translates literally as 'noble blend' and this is an old style of wine dating back to 1644. Peachy, hazy colour with lashings of refreshing, zingy acidity and tropical fruit and elderflower but still dry. A litre of fun.
Notes on the Winemaker: The Durrmann family make wine in the village of Andlau on the slopes of Vosges mountains in Alsace. The vineyards have been organic since 1998 and sulphur free cuvees have been produced since 2007 after Yann (the son) took over running the winery.
