Grape Variety: Graciano
Producer: Cap De Nit (Josh Kniesel & Josie Cleeve)
Region: Xaló, Marina Alta, Alicante, Spain
Wild Scale: 4/5
Vegan friendly wine
Winemaking: Organic Graciano grapes were harvested by hand. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. Bottled with no fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: Despite it's dark colour, this wine is still relatively light in body with just a hint of soft tannin. The fruit is becoming more developed with slightly baked notes. Easy drinking and great for a BBQ in the summer.
Notes on the Winemaker: Josh is from Germany and Josie the UK. They met in the Marina Alta region of Valencia after Josie's family moved when she was young and John had a family home there. He completed his winemaking studies in Germany and South Africa before the couple acquired old bush vines in this region which are planted amongst citrus and olive trees. They farm Moscatel at lower plots and red varieties in areas of higher elevation and create hugely characterful wines full of Mediterranean and mountain influences.
