Winemaking: Organic Grenache grapes grown on schist and granite soils were harvested by hand. Whole bunch fermentation with indigenous yeast before being pressed into old wooden barrels. Aged for 1 year before being bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.

This Wine: Highly sought after natural, red wine from the Mediterranean slopes of Banyuls. This is medium to full bodied but at the same time full of delicate and fragrant notes of black fruit, herbs and spice followed by a dark, minerally finish.

Notes on the Winemaker: After searching for vines around the country, Hirofumi and Rié eventually settled near Banyuls sur Mer in the deepest depths of Southern France. 2017 was their first vintage and the wine instantly wowed the likes of Alice Feiring who described it as a 'pulsating strobe light'. Years later and the buzz hasn't stopped. The couple produce delicate but structured Grenache on these steep, sun baked slopes and never add anything in the cellar.
