Grape Variety: Grenache Noir, Carignan
Producer: La Voluta
Region: Cucugnan, Roussillon, France
Wild Scale: 5/5
Vegan friendly wine
Winemaking: Organic Grenache and Carignan grapes were harvested by hand. Fermented with indigenous yeast and aged in old barrel. No fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: Still red wine with a full body but soft tannins. Ripe black and red fruit flavours with a hint of sweetness which make it a great partner for any food dish with high acidity or a bit of spice.
Notes on the Winemaker: La Voluta is the natural wine project of Jean Benoit Vivequain and Anna Rubio who now reside in the village of Cucugnan after meeting on the other side of the world in New Zealand where they were both learning about winemaking. They focus on old-vine Grenache Noir which is indigenous to the wild and rugged terrain between Cucugnan and Maury.
