Winemaking: Biodynamic Malvasia grapes were harvested by hand. 1 week maceration in a combination concrete tanks and acacia barrels. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. No filtration or fining and just a touch of added sulphur on bottling.
This Wine: Aromatic orange wine at a great price as you may have come to expect from Il Farneto. There is a nice balance of fruity (tangerine and lime) and savoury notes along with a touch of spice.
Notes on the Winemaker: Il Farneto is a winery situated in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna between Reggio Emilia and Modena. The 35 hectare farm was established in the 90s according to organic principles and is now run by Tomasso Turci and Marco Bertoni who have adopted biodynamic techniques in recent years. The wines are made using local grape varieties and always offer amazing value for money.
