Winemaking: Organic (uncertified) grapes grown on volcanic soil were hand harvested and underwent semi-carbonic maceration in fibreglass tank fermentation indigenous yeast. Bottled with no fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: A still red wine with an amazing energy as soon as it hits the palate. Loads of juicy, fresh fruit. We got blueberry and that flavour you get from American grape soda along with a hint of smoke. Really unique! A wine never to be made again after the 1964 vineyard has sadly made way for residential development. The wine was made as a collaboration Il Ceo and Marco Turco.
Notes on the Winemaker: Il Ceo means "The Kid" in the local dialect of Davide Andreatta. His mission is to recover and restore old vineyards in and around his local town of Breganze which is just north of Vincenza in Veneto.
