Winemaking: Organic Montepulciano d'Abruzzo grapes from a single plot were harvested by hand. 50% were de-stemmed and 50% remained in whole bunches. Fermentation with indigenous yeast in stainless steel. Aged in tank for 8 months. Bottled with no fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: Natural red wine with a medium body. Soft tannins make for a silky texture with a real punch of fresh black fruit and a herbal finish.
Notes on the Winemaker: In the south of Abruzzo, Luca Bevilacqua makes natural wine from indigenous grape varieties. He worked as a sommelier around Europe before embarking on his winemaking journey in 2001. His wines are straightforward but full of character and always made with filtration and sulphite additions.
