Winemaking: Organic grapes were harvested by hand. De-stemmed before 3 week maceration. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in tank for 9 months before bottling with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.
This Wine: Natural red wine made from the prized local grape variety, Ploussard. This is the first vintage of this wine and gives everything you might expect. It's light and fresh with a very pale colour. Cranberry and raspberry fruit combines with minerals and an earthy funkiness. Made in very small quantities.
Notes on the Winemaker: Sébastien Jacques & Amélie Vuillet make natural wine in their home region of the Jura. They farm just 1 hectare of vines in the villages of Arbois, Molamboz and Montingy-lès-Arsures and produce energetic and characterful wines from local grape varieties.
