Winemaking: Biodynamic (uncertified) grapes were harvested by hand and fermented with indigenous yeast in concrete. Aged here for 9 months. Bottled with no fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: Natural red wine with medium to full body. Fresh and floral character balanced well with a savoury edge. Some spice too. Complex and best with food.
Notes on the Winemaker:
Diedre O'Brien & Maurizio Caffer previously lived in London before setting up a biodynamic farm in the Monferrato region of Piemonte, north west Italy where they grow indigenous grapes including the very rare Slarina variety.
