Syrah / Viognier
Ô Tricotée 2021
Grape Variety: 75% Syrah, 25% Viognier
Producer: Maud Adnot
Region: Valvignères, Ardeche (but grapes are from Northern Rhône)
Wild Scale: 3/5
Vegan friendly wine
Winemaking: Organic Syrah and Viognier grapes were purchased from a grower in the Northern Rhône. They were taken to Metz for fermentation with indigenous yeast in stainless steel tanks. No fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: A natural red wine with medium body but great freshness and acidity thanks to the addition of Viognier which is an old tradition in the Northern Rhône. Beautifully intense black fruit flavours on the palate with a long, elegant finish. No oak aromas, all fruit and dried flowers. This is the first vintage for this wine and winemaker.
Notes on the Winemaker: Maud Adnot is a new negotiant winemaker working out of the Ardeche. She is planning on growing her own grapes but for now makes wine with no additions using top quality grapes from friends nearby. Her first vintage was in 2021 and we can't wait to see where she goes from here.
