Winemaking: Organic Viognier and Chardonnay grapes were harvested by hand before fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old oak barrels. Bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.
This Wine: Natural white wine with a great balance or aromatics and fruit. You get some classic notes of apricot from the Viognier with some more subtle lemon character from the Chardonnay. Rich and expressive wine that is probably best with food.
Notes on the Winemaker: Wine has been made on this estate in the south of Burgundy since 1850 but it was only in 2016 that Jean-Francois decided to start making his own wine rather than sell the grapes to the local co-operative. It was also the same year that he converted to organics and is now making characterful wines at a great price.
