Beaujolais Nouveau 2024 Pre-Order is Live!
The third Thursday of every November represents Beaujolais Nouveau Day, our favourite wine celebration!
Originally seen as a way to mark the end of harvest, these light wines that have only been in bottle for a matter of weeks gained global attention in the 1970s thanks to the marketing drive by the "Pope of Beaujolais", George Duboeuf.
Whilst the quality of the wine didn't always live up to the anticipation and excitement, the whole concept brought a refreshing and fun vibe to the otherwise stuffy world of wine.
The natural wine movement that was born in Beaujolais has brought renewed interest in Nouveau wines and has provided an excuse to celebrate the Gamay grape more generally. So in case we needed another reason to get together with friends and share a bottle, here it is!
