Bencze is Back!

We are excited to receive new wines from another of our favourite producers from the past few years. In the Hungarian region of Badacsony, Bencze Birtok makes beautiful, biodynamic wines that are intense but delicate and always full of complexity. We drank a bottle of his Riesling 2021 earlier this week with a group of friends and everyone was taken aback but the profound mineral character. It has got us excited to open a bottle of his top Riesling cuvée, Aries 2020 sometime soon. Just waiting for the right occasion! We have also received a re-stock of Atlas 2021, a red made from his best plots of Pinot Noir. We still have a couple of his entry level Pinot Noir as well. If all that wasn't enough to get stuck into, one bottle of his special Harslvelu 2021 cuvée remains in the cellar. Only produced in vintages where the climatic conditions are perfect, this is made from a rare local variety that is more commonly used in Tokaj production.
