Back to the Chateau

Fernando Berry has been bringing natural wine to the UK for the best part of 10 years now. It is thanks to him that we are able to enjoy bottles from the likes of La Salada, Joan Rubio, Bodega La Senda and Samuel Parraga that all arrive on these shores under his Otros Vinos import company.

(Fernando and his Baby Girls)

Having always wanted to produce some of his own wines, he finally saw the opportunity in 2021 when he got his hands on some grapes from Clot de Les Soleres in Catalunya (whose wines he also ships to the UK) and the Chateau Baby Girl project was born with the release of Hot Girl Summer 2021.

More cuvées soon followed which utilised a wide array of grape varieties from the likes of La Voluta, Vinyes Tortuga and Domaine de Mena and they all brought a breath of fresh air to the natural wine scene. Using creative and unique winemaking techniques and blending different colours, every cuvée offered something wild and exciting.

We have just received two new wines that follow on in Fernando's raw and untamed style and we can't wait for you to try them...

Hot Girl Summer 2022

The follow up to Chateau Baby Girl's first release is here! A blend of 11 red and white grapes varieties grown in Catalunya, this shows an electric pink colour in the glass and offers rhubarb, pink grapefruit and candied lemon flavours alongside some volatile acidity. 5 on the wild scale, it certainly picks up where the 2021 left off!

Diamond Baby 2023

A new cuvée from Fernando created with Carignan and Grenache grapes from La Voluta. He then acquired some very ripe Muscat grapes from Domaine de Mena and macerated them for 10 days before blending them into the red wine. So a red and white blend (with a light to medium body) with black and red fruit alongside tropical and aromatic notes. Such a beautiful bottle to drink slightly chilled. Another gem in the Chateau Baby Girl crown!

Thanks Fernando and please keep them coming...

Happy drinking!
