Ganevat & Bornard Cellar Release

Ganevat & Bornard Cellar Release

We are happy to announce the release of some sought after wines from two of the most exciting names in the Jura. Anne & Jean-Francois Ganevat don't need much of an introduction as they now claim one of the most iconic winemaking names in the world. Located in the Sud Revermont, they farm around 13 hectares of their own vines but also produce a dizzying array of negotiant wines with grapes from Jura and further afield. Despite the fact no sulphur has been used in the cellar for nearly 20 years, the white wines are precise and elegant with a lazer-like mineral focus and beautiful acidity. The reds are usually slightly wilder with a primary focus on concentrated, fresh fruit.

Further north in the famous village of Pupillin, Domaine Bornard was founded by Philippe in 2005. The wines he produced became iconic, both for their striking orange fox labels and their wild, expressive character. Philippe retired in 2017 and his son Tony took over the running of the winery after combining it with his own smaller operation to achieve 11 hectares of vines. Arguably Tony's wines are at the opposite end of the scale to Ganevat, much more unpredictable and untamed, but when they are good, they really are good! We love both these styles of wine and the variety is what keeps our palate enthused on a daily basis. Don't miss you chance to try for yourself...
