New Wines from Philippe Delmée in Anjou
One of our favourite styles of natural wine is that gluggable, uncomplicated (but not boring), bistro-style bottle. It's not trying to blow your mind, it just wants to make it feel good! Philippe Delmée is a master at creating such wines. He's also a humble and honest guy who flys under the radar and seems quite happy about that.

We have just received two cuvées that sit perfectly on the table for a casual dinner with friends. Both show a rustic edge but are very drinkable and fun to share.
A bright, energetic, light red now in its second vintage. Philippe has changed the grape varieties this time out so its now a blend of Cabernet Franc and Grolleau. Juicy, light in alcohol (10.5%) and a refreshing touch of Co2. Works very well chilled also.
Bargain Chenin from the Loire is a rare thing these days! Great acidity, texture and a balance of mineral and fruit flavours. Hazy in the glass but only a 3 on our wild scale.
We are pouring both by the glass in the bar at the moment and they are going down a treat.
Come by for a glass or have a bottle delivered today...
P.s. We have one bottle of his rich and complex Les Ch'nins On Boit Et La Caravane Passe 2021 in the cellar for a lucky customer. 100% Chenin Blanc.
Happy drinking!
