Winemaking: Organic Gamay grapes were sourced from an organic grower in Beaujolais. Macerated in whole bunches for 2 weeks. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old barrels for 1 year. Bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.
This Wine: Natural red wine with a light body. This is a negotiant wine made from a parcel of vines in Beaujolais village of Bully that Katie utilised for her debut wine in 2019. Bright acidity and a wonderful purity of fruit. Made in very small quantities and in high demand.
Notes on the Winemaker: Katie Worobeck hails from Ontario Canada which is where she first began to fall in love with viticulture. After moving to France to follow her passion, she worked with none other than Anne and Jean-Francois Ganevat before getting her hands on a plot of vines on the esteemed site of Les Varrons where Domaine Labet also works. She uses organic and biodynamic farming methods to produce wonderfully evocative wines without any additions.
