Winemaking: Organic Gamay grapes from granite soils were hand harvested.  Fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in barrel for 12 months before spending a further 9 months in tank. Bottled with no fining, filtration or added sulphur.

This Wine: Natural red wine with a medium body. This comes from Julie Balagny's last vintage before her untimely death in July 2023. It was a warm vintage so you can expect a fuller expression of Beaujolais with a depth of dark fruits and spice. A poignant wine to be savoured.

Notes on the Winemaker: Julie Balagny sadly passed away suddenly in 2023. She dedicated her life to her vines in Beaujolais from which she produced some of the most sublime natural wines we have ever tasted. Her winery is now in the hands of longtime friend and assistant Brice Grizzonet who aims to honour her name and carry on with the work she started.
