Garganega
Masieri Bianco 2023
Maule
Grape Variety: 90% Garganega, 10% Trebbiano
Producer: Angiolino Maule
Region: Veneto, Italy
Wild Scale: 3/5
Vegan friendly wine
Winemaking: Organic Garganega grapes grown on volcanic soils were hand harvested and spontaneously fermented with indigenous yeast. No filtration, fining and just a tiny amount of sulphur on bottling.
This Wine: Natural white wine with a medium body. Rich flavours of citrus and a touch of green melon. Strong mineral backbone with a hint of funk. Great with fish or a creamy pasta dish. Garganega is the grape used for the easy drinking Soave style, but this wine has much more character!
Notes on the Winemaker: Angiolino Maule has been making wine since the 80s in the town of Gambellara in the Veneto region of NE Italy. His aim is for an honest expression of terroir in every bottle and he manages to achieve this at very affordable prices. Some of the best value natural wines around.
