Notes on the Winemaker: Vinyer de la Ruca is a project that began when Tuscan native Manuel di Vecchia Staraz moved to the French Mediterranean town of Banyuls close to the Spanish border. He works out of the famous Neuf Cave cellar and produces beautiful wines that have earned a cult following in recent years. He enjoys blending different varieties and colours but also makes the traditional, sweet, red Banyuls style which is possibly the jewel in his crown.
