Winemaking: Organic Muscat grapes were harvested by hand. 13 day semi-carbonic maceration. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old barrels on the lees for 7 months. No fining, filtration or added sulphur.

This Wine: Rietsch creates a more refined style of skin contact Muscat which has an almost tea-like character with delicate perfumed notes. As with all of Jean-Pierre's wines, a few years in the cellar brings amazing results.

Notes on the Winemaker: Jean-Pierre Rietsch is a natural winemaker in the village of Mittelbergheim, Alsace. His estate has been in the family for seven generations but wasn't used for vine cultivation until the 1970s. He has garnered a reputation as a legend in this area and when you try his wines, you'll see why. From rich and complex Riesling to traditional method sparkling wine and skin contact cuvées, his wide range has something for everyone.
