Winemaking: Organic Pinot Noir grapes grown on schist soil and steep slopes were harvested by hand. Maceration and fermentation for 4 weeks in stainless steel. Aged in tank and bottled with no fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: A cuvée now longer in production! Using his best Pinot Noir grapes from a steep slope of schist, Yann showcases a very mineral expression of the variety. He also believes his grapes grown on Schiste soils have the best ageing potential. A fuller body compared to his entry level with a very clean finish. Now aged for a few years in cellar and showing beautifully.
Notes on the Winemaker: The Durrmann family make wine in the village of Andlau on the slopes of Vosges mountains in Alsace. The vineyards have been organic since 1998 and sulphur free cuvees have been produced since 2007 after Yann (the son) took over running the winery.
