Beaujolais Nouveau 2023

Beaujolais Nouveau Day takes place annually on the third Thursday of November and marks a celebration of the first released wines of the vintage. This ritual goes back a long time but in the 1970s, wine merchant George Dubouef, who some dubbed "The Pope of Beaujolais", realised the marketing potential of the concept and it became a worldwide phenomenon. Parties were thrown on the specific date to drink the young red wines. However, the quality wasn't always there and slowly interest in these young wines decreased. Fortunately young natural winemakers came along and have brought life and calibre back to Beaujolais Nouveau. One of our favourite such producers is Séléne who produce light and elegant Gamays in a natural and sustainable way. Throw your own party with some of the following wines that we have in stock...
