Winemaking: Organic Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Auxerrois grapes were harvested by hand in 2022. Fermentation with indigenous yeast to create a base wine. In 2023 some juice from the new harvest was added to this in order to start a second fermentation in the bottle (traditional Champagne method).

This Wine: Jean-Pierre's iconic penguin Crémant returns. One of our favourite sparkling wines, particularly enjoyable at Christmas with family and friends. Great value too. We also has magnums available from 2019/2020 vintages.

Notes on the Winemaker: Jean-Pierre Rietsch is a natural winemaker in the village of Mittelbergheim, Alsace. His estate has been in the family for seven generations but wasn't used for vine cultivation until the 1970s. He has garnered a reputation as a legend in this area and when you try his wines, you'll see why. From rich and complex Riesling to traditional method sparkling wine and skin contact cuvées, his wide range has something for everyone.
