This Wine: The first vintage from Peltier Ravineau! This is a serious and sophisticated Sauvignon Blanc made from their ripest grapes. You might expect a tidal wave of tropical fruit but this is more refined with a strong mineral character alongside peach and lemon notes. Lovely complexity that deserves to be paired with food.
Notes on the Winemaker: Arthur Peltier and Achille Ravineau are young winemakers situated close to Cheverny in Touraine. This is a natural wine hot spot in the Loire that was put on the map by the likes of Thierry Puzelat / Clos du Tue-Boeuf and Hervé Villemade, both of which provided training and guidance to Arthur and Achille. Now they are making affordable, expressive wines with a focus on local grape varieties including the rare Menu Pineau. One to watch!
