Winemaking: Organic field blend of red and white grapes were harvested by hand and fermented with indigenous yeast in fibreglass tanks. Bottled with no fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: A natural red wine unmistakably from the south of France but has a lovely acidity (potentially from the inclusion of white juice) that brings freshness and balance. Dark fruit flavours are partnered with a hint of citrus and an earthy backbone. We love how Raymond's simple label perfectly sums up his honest and straightforward wines.
Notes on the Winemaker: Bota Nostra is the natural wine project of Raymond Manchon to lives near the village of Estagel, just outside Perpignan in Roussillon, southern France. He works out of his makeshift garage in his back garden where he produces just 2000 bottles a year. The wines are rustic but well made and display freshness you associate with the Pyrenees alongside that classic southern French ripeness.
