Grape Variety: Sauvignon Blanc

Producer: Faedesfa (Alberto Buratti)

Region:  Rovolon, Colli Euganei, Veneto, Italy

Wild Scale: 3/5

11% alcohol

Winemaking: Organic Sauvignon Blanc grapes were sourced from a friend. De-stemmed before 5 day maceration. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old barrels for 10 months. No filtration, fining or added sulphur.

This Wine: Natural skin contact wine that offers a unique perspective on the Sauvignon Blanc grape. Still, despite the crown cap. Rounder, richer and more concentrated than you would normally expect from this variety but still with fresh, balancing acidity. A great intensity of golden apple flesh, white peach and elderflower with background herbal notes. Precise and clean.

Notes on the Winemaker: Alberto Buratti farms just over 3 hectares of vines in the Colli Euganei region of Veneto. He grew up around these vineyards when his Grandfather worked them but it wasn't until 2019 that he took the plunge to take over full time. Now he works with local and international grape varieties that he grows organically and doesn't add anything in the winemaking process.
