Winemaking: Organic Gamay grapes were harvested by hand. 15 day carbonic maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged for 1 year in old oak barrels. No filtration, fining or added sulphur.
This Wine: Natural Beaujolais with a light but complex character. Red berry flavours with a nice hint of earthiness. A couple of years in the cellar have given the wine added complexity and class
Notes on the Winemaker: Cyrille Vuillod was a ski instructor in the Alps before embarking on the journey to become a natural winemaker in Beaujolais after studying under Jean-Claude Lapalu. Situate don the edge of Brouilly, he now produces no or low sulphur Gamays and some white wine made from Chardonnay.
