Riesling

Despite its undeserved reputation as a cheap, sweet wine ingredient (a hangover from the 1980s), real wine lovers understand and appreciate that Riesling is one of the most versatile grape varieties in the world that has an amazing ability to reflect its terroir and create age-worthy wines that get more and more complex as time passes.

It is the most planted grape in Germany where it originated near the Rhein river and it also thrives in Alsace where winemakers love to showcase its different expressions across different soil types. It produces some of the best sweet and off-dry wines in the world and can also be used in sparkling wine production. In recent years we have been enjoying skin-contact Rieslings that show the variety's more spicy side.
