Winemaking: Organic grapes grown on clay-limestone soils were hand harvested before 8 day whole bunch maceration. Fermentation with indigenous yeast in stainless steel. Aged in tank for 9 months. Bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.

This Wine: Still red wine with a superb balance elegance and fruit forward characteristics. Very fresh with high acidity. Sour cherry flavours and light in body.  We loved it so much that we saved a bottle in the cellar for a few years for your enjoyment!

Notes on the Winemaker: Jean-Pierre Rietsch is a natural winemaker in the village of Mittelbergheim, Alsace. His estate has been in the family for seven generations but wasn't used for vine cultivation until the 1970s. All of Jean-Pierre's wines are in very high demand but we particularly love his skin-contact cuvees which is a winemaking method rarely seen in Alsace.
