Winemaking: Organic Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris grapes were harvested by hand. 14 day whole bunch maceration. Fermentation with indigenous yeast in stainless steel. Bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.

This Wine: Jean-Pierre's litre of juice after a few years in the cellar. Light in body but great concentration of fresh and candied cherry flavours with a hint of earthiness. The great acidity balances everything perfectly. 

Notes on the Winemaker: Jean-Pierre Rietsch is a natural winemaker in the village of Mittelbergheim, Alsace. His estate has been in the family for seven generations but wasn't used for vine cultivation until the 1970s. All of Jean-Pierre's wines are in very high demand but we particularly love his skin-contact cuvées which is a winemaking method rarely seen in Alsace.
