Winemaking: Organic Riesling grapes were hand-harvested underwent fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old barrels and bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.

This Wine: High quality Riesling from south facing slopes. This is easier drinking that the previous vintage and more approachable in its youth. Salty peach and apricot flavours alongside fresh acidity. 

Notes on the Winemaker: Jean-Pierre Rietsch is a natural winemaker in the village of Mittelbergheim, Alsace. His estate has been in the family for seven generations but wasn't used for vine cultivation until the 1970s. All of Jean-Pierre's wines are in very high demand but we particularly love his skin-contact cuvees which is a winemaking method rarely seen in Alsace.
