Winemaking: Organic grapes were sourced from organic growers. Whole bunches of Carignan were infused into direct press Grenache Noir juice. Then lightly stomped Muscat grapes were macerated for 10 days and added to the red juice. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in glass demijohns before bottling with no fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: A brand new wine from the sexy and mysterious, Chateau Baby Girl! Made with grapes from friends at La Voluta and Domaine de Mena, this is a light to medium red with red and black fruit alongside bright tropical notes from the very ripe Muscat grapes. No fizz despite the crown cap. Absolutely delicious and remarkably clean for a CBG wine! Very small production. Drink chilled.
Notes on the Winemaker: Chateau Baby Girl is an esteemed 300 hectare estate on the left bank in Bordeaux. Not really. It's actually the winemaking project of Fernando Berry, well known for his import company Otros Vinos that has been championing the pioneers of Spanish natural wine for years now. Fernando has built such a close relationship with so many of his winemakers that it has helped realise his dream to make his own wine. 2021 was his first vintage and we look forward to more in the future.
