Winemaking: Organic Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris grapes were harvested by hand. 14 day whole bunch maceration. Fermentation with indigenous yeast in stainless steel. Bottled with no no fining, light filtration and a tiny amount of sulphur.

This Wine: Jean-Pierre's red litre is back! Light in body but a little more concentrated than the previous vintage. Fresh and candied cherry flavours with a hint of earthiness and a subtle touch of smoke. Some medicinal notes remind of us high quality vermouth. Balanced with perfect acidity. A bargain as usual.

Notes on the Winemaker: Jean-Pierre Rietsch is a natural winemaker in the village of Mittelbergheim, Alsace. His estate has been in the family for seven generations but wasn't used for vine cultivation until the 1970s. All of Jean-Pierre's wines are in very high demand but we particularly love his skin-contact cuvées which is a winemaking method rarely seen in Alsace.
