Winemaking: Organic Grüner Veltliner and Pinot Blanc grapes were harvested by hand. Skin contact for 5 to 14 days. Fermentation with indigenous yeast in a mixture of old barrels and amphora. No fining, filtration or added sulphur.
This Wine: A zesty and saline white wine that is round but still full of acidity. Great complexity of fruit with apple, grapefruit and peach all in the mix. Also some reductive notes of wet rock. The years of ageing in the bottle have done wonders and now is probably the optimum time to drink this vintage.
Notes on the Winemaker: Claus Preisinger hails from the north of Burgenland in Austria and has made quite a name for himself in the natural wine world. His vineyards have been biodynamic since 2006 and he creates lively and vibrant wines.
